When you do your apprenticeship at Baumer, you work in different areas for a few months in the third year of your apprenticeship. In this way, you get to know the company and the different tasks very well. At that time, I was in the EMC laboratory for three months, which I really liked. When I completed my training, this team was looking for support, which prompted me to apply for the position.
After about a year, however, I missed the variety in this job. When I approached HR with a request for a more varied job, they were able to place me internally in my current job. I wanted to stay at Baumer because I really like it in the company. Everyone is very helpful and supportive when I come with a problem.

What tasks do you do in your job today?
My job as a Production Engineer is very varied and difficult to describe in one sentence. So here is a small overview of tasks:
- Analyzing the scrap from production (defining remedial measures)

- Creating and updating work schedules

What does a typical working week look like for you? What internal interfaces do you deal with?
I can't really plan my week as it's a job where I'm always on call. I mainly work with my colleagues from production and am the contact person for problems of all kinds. I am also in contact with maintenance and R&D when the problems become more complex.

What distinguishes your work area in Frauenfeld?
I have a lot of contact with different people – that's what I really like about my job. The company is so big that it is possible to change internally and still small enough that after a certain time you know someone everywhere.

What was the best learning experience that happened to you during your time at Baumer?
I immediately remember a project from my apprenticeship: When we had to build our own power supply in a group task. Various components had to be ordered, documentation had to be written, a printed circuit board had to be drawn, etched and soldered and much more. All in all, a very cool project with a great result in the end, which I can still use very well today and use a lot.
