On Swiss Future Day, 22 pupils from grades 5 to 7 were able to delve into the day-to-day work of a high-tech sensor company. As in previous years, Baumer gave the children and young people the opportunity to accompany their parents to the workplace at its headquarters in Frauenfeld and thus gain valuable insights into professional practice.
The children were particularly enthusiastic and curious about the practical part. A particular highlight for many was soldering an LED ruler with their own hands under expert guidance in the training workshop - a sense of achievement that the motivated girls and boys clearly enjoyed.
At the beginning of the day, many of the children were not quite sure what exactly their parents do at Baumer. This quickly changed: the exciting insights and practical experiences gave them a much better understanding of the work at the sensor specialist, whose products make machines and systems around the world more efficient and resource-saving.
For Baumer, the promotion and training of young talent is a key element in the long-term development of future specialists and managers. In the context of the Baumer training system, Baumer also sees the Future Day as an important component in inspiring young talent to work on the sensor solutions of the future.
