I am responsible for first-level support in the event of system malfunctions and the maintenance of our production facilities. This includes the placement systems in electronics production, but also the systems and production workstations in final assembly. Thus, I plan and organize the maintenance of the machines, take care of the spare parts, write the necessary maintenance plans, arrange appointments with our machine manufacturers and look after the service technicians on site.

You have two additional roles – what are they?
In addition, I take care of the test equipment monitoring and am the ESD representative at the site. With regard to gauge equipment monitoring, I ensure that each gauge is regularly checked for accuracy. The role of the ESD representative at the site includes checking the production workstations and regularly training colleagues about ESD – i.e. the physical process of «electrostatic discharge», which is an extremely central topic for us as a manufacturer of sensors in terms of quality and safety.

How do you experience the business environment at Baumer?
You have the opportunity to familiarize yourself with various topics and also get the necessary support from your superiors and teammates. I think it's great that Baumer has a summer and a winter party for the employees and brings the different departments closer together with team events.

What moment at work do you remember most?
The first time I had successfully completed the maintenance of our placement system on my own. This also included the maintenance of the placement heads, which have a very complex design.
